At different points in our life, we can feel so overwhelmed by our personal “To Do” lists. Whether you work full time, are a student in school, or have after-school activities and clubs to attend to, our lives become so busy! It’s hard to manage the stress of our everyday lives, and balancing a healthy diet on top of that seems nearly impossible! Here are some of the things I do each day to make sure I stay on top of things:
“It’s not about ‘having’ time, it’s about making time. If it matters to you, you will find the time to get it done.”
1. Plan ahead! “If you fail to prepare, then you prepare to fail.” Take one day or night on the weekend and get your groceries and meal prep. I like to prep my food every Sunday night so I have all of my meals ready for the week. It’s hard to cheat your meals when you have them cooked and in those lovely tupperware containers.
2. Wake up a little earlier! Whether you’re off to school or work, get up a few minutes earlier to throw your meal in the microwave and put it in a cooler to bring with you. To avoid unnecessary snacking throughout the day, I make sure that I have options of my own so I’m not tempted to cheat.
3 Don’t forget breakfast! Before you leave the house to start your day, it’s important that you have enough fuel for the day’s activities. Whenever I have a long day away from the house, I have a big bowl of oatmeal and a protein shake to keep my stomach full.
